The Best Actress in an Sci-Fi or Fantasy series of 2012 as voted by you the fans was.. JENNIFER MORRISON "ONCE UPON A TIME".
Winning this award is finally a redemption for Ms. Morrison. She has been a finalist for 4 previous awards (sexiest actress 2012, Favorite character, Supporting actress & best drama/action actress 2011) with 2 runner ups & no awards. Her role as the nomadic bounty hunter turned saviour of fairie tale characters has put her back on the map after leaving "House". The 2010 Best Actress winner, the FBI agent turned enemy of the futuristic overlords of earth, Anna Torv from "Fringe" finished 2nd in the final season of the show. In 3rd was another "Once Upon A Time" actress Lana Parrilla as the evil queen/mayor of Storybrooke. 4th thru 6th were all from "Lost Girl" and I had assumed Zoie Palmer would probably win this award... but with an influx of new voters, mainly from The Walking Dead & Castle, changing the results of categories they werent even in, the 3 girls from Lost Girl. Anna Silk & Ksenia Solo round out the finalists. Jennifer Morrison beat runner up Anna Torv by 212 votes, back in 3rd was Lana Parrilla 62 votes behind the runner up & 408 votes ahead of 4th place Zoie Palmer. In 5th was Anna Silk 138 votes behind 4th & 106 ahead of Ksenia Solo, the 6th place finalist. Jennifer Morrison takes tha vacated title that was previously held by Erica Durance from Smallville. Before the actress category was split into 3 categories, the 2010 "Best actress" winner, Anna Torv has since finished runner up in the 2 years since. All of the finalists, with the exception of Zoie Palmer, were up for a best actress award last year, Morrison & Parrilla for drama/action, and Solo, Silk & Torv for sci-fi. Final vote totals Jennifer Morrison "Once Upon A Time" 1338 Anna Torv "Fringe" 1126 Lana Parrilla "Once Upon A Time" 1064 Zoie Palmer "Lost Girl" 656 Anna Silk "Lost Girl" 518 Ksenia Solo "Lost Girl" 412

The Best Actress In An Action Or Drama Program of 2012 as voted by you the fans was.. STANA KATIC "CASTLE".
Early on it looked like a 3 horse race as Katic, Ellen Pompeo, the eventual runner up from "Grey's Anatomy" & Jennifer Carpenter "Dexter were within mere votes of each other for the 1st couple days. However, eventually the rush of support for Castle pushed on & eventually eliminated Carpenter from contention & in the last day had enough of a push to give the modest breathing room Stana had over Ellen to turn it into a comfortable win. This category was influenced stats wise by a rush of voters that came in from The Walking Dead, as their fans voted on the awards that their show ere in at that time in the sci-fi/fantasy categories, which were on at the same time as the Action/drama categories. Michelle Dockery from "Downton Abbey" and Mireille Enos of "The Killing" got left behind early by the throngs of supporters for the top 3. Eventually Katic, the actress who plays "Castle" detective Kate Beckett triumphed. Stana Katic beat runner up Ellen Pompeo by 281 votes. In 3rd was Jennifer Carpenter 292 votes out of 2nd & 635 votes ahead of 4th place Michelle Dockery who finished 306 votes ahead of the final finalist Mireille Enos. Stana Katic wins this award for the 2nd year in a row. She is also the only actress to make the finals last year & this year in this category. Despite being in the same roles last year, Pompeo, Carpenter & Dockery were not even nominated last year, and Enos didnt get out of the nomination round... of course, with the "Sci-fi" category now being re-named "Sci-fi or fantasy" category, nominees from Once Upon A Time & Game Of Thrones who provided challenges last year have moved, leaving the door open for new challengers. Final vote totals Stana Katic "Castle" 1787 Ellen Pompeo "Grey's Anatomy" 1506 Jennifer Carpenter "Dexter" 1214 Michelle Dockery "Downton Abbey" 579 Mireille Enos "The Killing" 273 The Best Actress in a Comedy Program of 2012 as voted by you the fans was.. MAYIM BIALIK "THE BIG BANG THEORY.
Miss Bialik winning this was actually a pleasant shock to me. I had a write up for Kaley Cuoco all prepared. While I love seeing Kaley on my screen every week, and even think she is exceptional in the role, I actually think Mayim is the better actress on the show and was sincerely pleased to see most of you agreed this year. The brilliant & sexually frustrated girlfriend of socially awkward super genius Sheldon Cooper, Amy Farrah Fowler is 1 of the most complex and confusing characters on TV & it is hard to think anyone but Mayim doing the role now. She ended up nudging out her cast mate & defending champ. While lots of the winners seemed to generate their support from Twitter, her success seemed to come from TBBT fans on Tumblr. The "New Girl" to the finals Zooey Deschanel squeezed into 3rd ahead of last years runner up Jane Lynch of "Glee". Maggie Lawson of "Psych" manages to make the finals for a 2nd year in a row, finishing 5th this time. Mayim Bialik beat runner up Kaley Cuoco by only 12 votes, 3rd place Zoeey Deschanel was 88 votes back of the runner up. 4th place Jane Lynch of "Glee" was 23 votes back of 3rd and 14 ahead of the 5th place Maggie Lawson of "Psych". This is the 2nd consecutive win for an actress from The Big Bang Theory. Mayim Bialik beats out last years winner, her cast mate Kaley Cuoco. Zoeey Deschanel was the only finalist this year not to be in last years finals. The 12 vote margain of victory is the smallest margain this year. The smallest margain of victory ever previous was Best Drama in 2010 when "Dexter" won by 13 votes over "The Vampire Diaries". Final vote totals Mayim Bialik "The Big Bang Theory" 217 Kaley Cuoco "The Big Bang Theory" 205 Zooey Deschanel "New Girl" 117 Jane Lynch "Glee" 94 Maggie Lawson "Psych" 80 Best Of TV Awards 2012 Winner "Best Sci-Fi Or Fantasy Actress" JENNIFER MORRISON (Once Upon A Time)1/25/2013 The Best Actress in an Sci-Fi or Fantasy series of 2012 as voted by you the fans was.. This set of categories dealt with Best actress in comedy, sci-fi/fantasy, or action/drama, as well as Supporting actress. FINALISTS are in BOLD text. The Best Comedy Actress category again looks to be headed towards the sexy nerd eyecandy from "The Big Bang Theory" Kaley Cuoco. Last years winner heads into the finals having lead in both rounds of voting. Maggie Lawson from "Psych" narrowly edged out another "The Big Bang Theory" star Mayim Bialik for 2nd. "Glee" star Jane Lynch was 4th and "New Girl" star Zoeey Deschanel rounded out the top 5. Results for Best Comedy actress Semi-finals voting Kaley Cuoco "The Big Bang Theory" 163 Maggie Lawson "Psych" 139 Mayim Bialik "The Big Bang Theory 136 Jane Lynch "Glee" 127 Zoeey Deschanel "New Girl" 122 Alyson Hannigan "How I Met Your Mother" 93 Melissa Rauch "The Big Bang Theory" 93 Kat Dennings "2 Broke Girls" 80 Alison Brie "Community" 71 Cobie Smulders "How I Met Your Mother" 61 Lea Michele "Glee" 57 Best sci-fi/fantasy actress cateogy is being taken over by "Lost Girl" stars. With last years winner Erica Durance gone, and the 2010 Best Actress winner Anna Torv's show "Fringe" winding down, competition for the Sci-fi/fantasy crown could be left to just Lost Girl & Once Upon A Time next year if this seasons vote means much. "Lost Girl" nabbed 1st, 3rd & 4th with Zoie Palmer, Anna Silk & Ksenia Solo. "Once Upon A Time" squeezed in 2 finalists, with Lana Parrilla getting 2nd, and Jennifer Morrison taking a 5th place tie with former 2010 best actress Anna Torv from "Fringe". Results for Best Sci-fi or Fantasy actress Semi-finals voting Zoie Palmer "Lost Girl" 555 Lana Parrilla "Once Upon A Time" 360 Anna Silk "Lost Girl" 311 Ksenia Solo "Lost Girl" 302 Anna Torv "Fringe" 208 Jennifer Morrison "Once Upon A Time" 208 Ginnifer Goodwin "Once Upon A Time" 175 Felicia Day "Eureka" 112 Lena Headey "Game Of Thrones" 112 Allison Scagliotti "Warehouse 13" 92 Best action/drama actress category was a slaughter, as "Greys Anatomy" star Ellen Pompeo had 65% of the votes. Last years winner, Stana Katic from "Castle" comes in 2nd, with the rest of the finalists being newcomers to the finals. Michelle Dockery from "Downton Abbey" 3rd, Mireille Enos "The Killing" a shocking 4th & Jennifer Carpenter "Dexter" taking 5th by just 2 votes over finalist from last year Sharon Gless from "Burn Notice". Results for Best Action or Drama actress Semi-finals voting Ellen Pompeo "Grey's Anatomy" 1631 Stana Katic "Castle" 238 Michelle Dockery "Downton Abbey" 123 Mireille Enos "The Killing" Jennifer Carpenter "Dexter" 93 Sharon Gless "Burn Notice" 91 Emily Vancamp "Revenge" 66 Claire Danes "Homeland" 59 AJ Cook "Criminal Minds" 55 Maggie Q "Nikita" 45 Best Supporting Actress category is of course different here than in major awards. Here we base it off how many episodes you are in, so a variety of actresses who might not normally get recognized since they stand between regular & guest star roles get recognized. A minimum of 3, maximimum of 7 appearances is what is required. Perfect example is the leader going into the finals, "Hawaii Five-O" star Michelle Borth. Potentially a full timer down the road, she has yet to get enough credits to be completely considered one (at the time of the nominations). Runner ups were 2 "Supernatural" girls Rachel Miner & Liane Balaban. 4th goes to "Dexter" bad girl Yvonne Strahovski and the final spot goes to "Fringe" short term actress Georgina Haig. Two Once Upon A Time cast were narrowly edged out as Barbara Hershey & Jamie Chung just missed the list. Results for Best Supporting Actress Semi-finals voting Michelle Borth "Hawaii Five-O" 273 Rachel Miner "Supernatural" 184 Liane Balaban "Supernatural" 129 Yvonne Strahovski "Dexter" 87 Georgina Haig "Fringe" 80 Barbara Hershey "Once Upon A Time" 56 Jamie Chung "Once Upon A Time" 55 Lauren Stamile "Burn Notice" 38 Katie Findlay "The Killing" 35 Katia Winter "Dexter" 18 FINALS VOTING will start in early January Here http://canadagraphs.weebly.com/best-of-tv-awards.html Best Of TV Awards - Semi-finalists for Best Actress in Comedy, Sci-fi or Fantasy and Action or Drama12/11/2012 Here are the results for the 5th set of categories to be voted on for the semi-finalists of the Canadagraphs BEST OF TV AWARDS 2012.
This set of categories dealt with Best Actresses in Comedy, Sci-fi or Fantasy & Action or Drama. The Comedy actress category didnt have a single nominee with over 10% of the vote, perhaps showing how evenly matched this category is. The Big Bang Theory resident hottie Kaley Cuoco had the most votes, beating out New Girl lead Zooey Deschanel. Kat Dennings of 2 Broke Girls, Alyson Hannigan from How I Met Your Mother & Jane Lynch from Glee round out the top 5 & making a rare feat in these polls where there is not a show with 2 or more nominees in the top 5. Those who have advanced to the semi-finals will be in BOLD text. SEMI FINALIST VOTING FOR BEST COMEDY ACTRESS Kaley Cuoco "The Big Bang Theory" 128 Zooey Deschanel "New Girl" 100 Alyson Hannigan "How I Met Your Mother" 83 Kat Dennings "2 Broke Girls" 82 Jane Lynch "Glee" 82 Mayim Bialik "The Big Bang Theory" 80 Maggie Lawson "Psych" 78 Melissa Rauch "The Big Bang Theory" 75 Alison Brie "Community" 67 Cobie Smulders "How I Met Your Mother" 67 Lea Michele "Glee" 67 Tina Fey "30 Rock" 55 Gillian Jacobs "Community" 54 Beth Behrs "2 Broke Girls" 49 Amy Poehler "Parks And Recreation" 48 Betty White "Hot In Cleveland" 44 Julie Bowen "Modern Family" 34 Melissa McCarthy "Mike And Molly" 30 Edie Falco "Nurse Jackie" 28 Julia Louis Dreyfuss "Veep" 22 Lena Dunham "Girls" 20 Megan Mullally "Childrens Hospital" 19 The Best actress for sci-fi/fantasy category was completely dominated by voters for the show "Lost Girl" as they pushed their trio of nominees thru 1st thru 3rd. Fringe star Anna Torv was a strong, but still distant 4th, while Once Upon A Time star Jennifer Morrison rounded out the top 5. SEMI FINALIST VOTING FOR BEST SCI-FI OR FANTASY ACTRESS Anna Silk "Lost Girl" 732 Ksenia Solo "Lost Girl" 611 Zoie Palmer "Lost Girl" 584 Anna Torv "Fringe" 306 Jennifer Morrison "Once Upon A Time" 138 Lena Headey "Game Of Thrones" 135 Ginnifer Goodwin "Once Upon A Time" 107 Lana Parrilla "Once Upon A Time" 102 Felicia Day "Eureka" 93 Allison Scagliotti "Warehouse 13" 87 Maisie Williams "Game Of Thrones" 66 Lauren Cohan "The Walking Dead" 64 Salli Richardson-Whitfield "Eureka" 44 Jasika Nicole "Fringe" 43 Erica Cerra "Eureka" 36 Natasha Henstridge "The Secret Circle" 20 Jessica Parker Kennedy "The Secret Circle" 15 Britt McKillip "The Secret Circle" 10 Joanne Kelly "Warehouse 13" 9 (write in votes) Nina Dobrev "The Vampire Diaries" 8 (write in votes) The action or drama actress category was dominated by Castle star Stana Katic, as she got 1 less vote than the 2nd (Claire Danes of Homeland), 3rd (Ellen Pompeo of Greys Anatomy) & 5th combined (Maggie Q of Nikita & Emily VanCamp from Revenge). Jennifer carpenter from Dexter rounds out the top 6 with a 4th place placing.
